Great food and drinks
The margaritas are their specialty along with different Mexican dishes!!
Neighborhood Nachos
Sure, there are better places to eat, but if you want decent food and margaritas that leave you not caring if you ever eat or not, Las Man is a good choice. The prime location and festive atmosphere will bring you back over and over.
Bueno o malo
The food has always been very good, but sometimes the service is dismally slow. I generally like the setting, the atmosphere and clientele are friendly, just so you don't have to spend any extra hours with them.
Simply WONDERFUL
We dined there Sept. 11th and had one of the most enjoyable dining experiences. The ambiance is great and the service is superb. But it is the food and food presentation that is the best of all. Started off with their soup of the day which was freshly prepared and then the entree. We used taste buds that we have not used in months! Everything and we do mean everything was perfect. We looked around the restaurant and all of the patrons were having a great time and enjoying themselves. This has to be one of the finest Mexican restaurants that we have had the privilege to enjoy. We certainly recommend this to any traveler to Chicago as well as residents of the Windy City. We just can't say enough great things about this restaurant.
Solid Mexican fare...
This is the go-to place in Boystown for Mexican food. On any night you can see a gaggle of gays celebrating birthdays, drinking Margaritas to start the night right, and enjoying the classic Mexican food.
I really love Mexican food, and recognize this isn't the best or the most authentic, but it is consistent and good and fun for a group.
But, beware, if you are hitting up the bars after you can end up smelling like fried chips and beans for hours after. I have stood in a bar many times and had someone pass me who I knew had just Las Mananitas.
OK Mexican
Hmmm well though the food is moderately priced.. its basically a no thrills mexican resturant.. where basically 75% of the menu taste the same.... and its not great. In terms of mexican restaurants in Chicago.. Las Mananitas have very bland food and large ,needs a shot more tequila, margaritas... It just has an ideal location and a patio for summer. You will be highly disappointed if you come with any other expectations.
Go for the margaritas.. stay for the food
Pleasant moderately priced menu... attractive and friendly staff. Menu selections for all tastes (mild to ouch!) and fantastic margaritas made with hand-squeezed lime juice!! The Halsted street location makes dinner and a night on the town.. a 1 parking spot deal!!
