Simply WONDERFUL
We dined there Sept. 11th and had one of the most enjoyable dining experiences. The ambiance is great and the service is superb. But it is the food and food presentation that is the best of all. Started off with their soup of the day which was freshly prepared and then the entree. We used taste buds that we have not used in months! Everything and we do mean everything was perfect. We looked around the restaurant and all of the patrons were having a great time and enjoying themselves. This has to be one of the finest Mexican restaurants that we have had the privilege to enjoy. We certainly recommend this to any traveler to Chicago as well as residents of the Windy City. We just can't say enough great things about this restaurant.
From a Mexican
This is one of those places that have really good margaritas, but the food is not as good. Keep in mind I grew up the real stuff so for me is hard to think Mexican food is good at any places other than my house.
Solid Mexican fare...
This is the go-to place in Boystown for Mexican food. On any night you can see a gaggle of gays celebrating birthdays, drinking Margaritas to start the night right, and enjoying the classic Mexican food. I really love Mexican food, and recognize this isn't the best or the most authentic, but it is consistent and good and fun for a group. But, beware, if you are hitting up the bars after you can end up smelling like fried chips and beans for hours after. I have stood in a bar many times and had someone pass me who I knew had just Las Mananitas.
quick service
Service and waitstaff was great. Very friendly. We only went for drinks and sat outside. Note: order an extra shot for your drinks. We will be back.
OK Mexican
Hmmm well though the food is moderately priced.. its basically a no thrills mexican resturant.. where basically 75% of the menu taste the same.... and its not great. In terms of mexican restaurants in Chicago.. Las Mananitas have very bland food and large ,needs a shot more tequila, margaritas... It just has an ideal location and a patio for summer. You will be highly disappointed if you come with any other expectations.
