Chicago for Chicagoans is excited to announce our second monthly walking tour -- a lovely 1.5 hour tour of the Boystown neighborhood featuring special guest collaborator Andie Mckenzie Meadows! Andie is a queer femme activist, Boystown historian, and photographer who will be contributing her totally unique, femme-focused and queer inclusive perspective on the history of the US's first officially designated gay neighborhood. Her documentary "Girls in Boystown" can be found on her website: andiemeadows.com
Beginning at the Belmont Red/Brown Line stop, the tour will cover the history, architecture, and landmarks of one of Chicago's most colorful neighborhoods. The afternoon will end with a meal at Nookie's Tree and an extra-special after party at The Closet. Come learn something new about your place in space!
Chicago for Chicagoans happily exists as a "pay-what-you-can" tour service. A suggested tip of $10 per person is always appreciated, but reviewing us on Yelp, liking us on Facebook, spreading the word, and attending future tours tells us how much you love us too!
All tour attendees will be graced with coupons to Taboo Tabou & The Coffee and Tea Exchange.
All are welcome to attend. Please bring a friend! Can't come? Next month is WICKER PARK. Stay tuned.
