The memories of this place.
I've said it before and I'll say it again...the gays get all the good stuff!! ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Halsted's Bar and Grill is a wonderful little bar with the most perfect beer garden ever! The food was delicious! I had an egg panini with chihuahua cheese, avocado, and chipotle creme. Mmmm! I woke up this morning craving another. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- During Cubs games you can get a giant glass of Bud or Bud Light for $4. Such a deal! They also make a delightful mojito that was perfect for a warm summer day in the beer garden. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- The overall vibe of this place is laid back and that's what I loved about it. The staff was wonderfully nice and the manager was extremely helpful in setting aside tables for the Yelp crew. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ This is definitely a place that I would go back to. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ -

I TOTALLY disagree with those who say the service and 'qualety' isn't good. I've never had bad service, or long waits- and I usually go on weekends. Their burgers are the best in Boystown (they even beat the newcomer tequila place who promotes their burgers). Other comfort food is great (meatloaf), you must ALWAYS get the Tater Tots. They have some lighter fare- wraps are very good, chicken sandwiches too. And, killer salads- I have them often in summer, sitting on the Awesome patio in back. Really, I've never had a bad experience here- the bar indoors is relatively quiet most times even though people are enjoying themselves, I'm not a fan of really loud places. Most tables give a good view of what's going on- the ones by the front windows have great people watching on Halsted. And, they don't lie- the CUTEST staff on Halsted, I don't know how they keep getting them. And really friendly! As for drinks, I usually try one of their vodka or martini specials (blueberry vodka+lemonade!), so the beer selection isn't crucial- but they do have Goose Island selections and Leinenkugels, so not bad. All around, a very comfortable, unpretentious, FUN place for food or drinks. -
High prices, paying for eatting in the scene
Prices are very high and do not match the qualety and size of the food served. The qualety is under par. The environment is great as it is a sports bar with all sorts of events and TV's. You can also get a window seat to boy watch guys walking by. The scene is what draws people not the food. -
A+ Boystown Bar food, Wonderful summer patio!!
Some of my friends have said the same thing "It actually used to be good when they first opened.' I don't believe this to be true. The quality of the food may have been a little better at the opening but the problems with staff, preparations, and wait time were just unbearable for this kind of establishment at the start. Cute, friendly staff :P Never had a problem here. I could care less about the "sports bar" appeal, but its nice to have something "different" in Boystown. The video jukebox is a fun addition as well. BEST Grilled Buffalo Chicken Wrap in the WORLD here!!! A++ -
Don't waste your time and money
Stopped in for a drink and dinner with some friends and received nothing but poor service and awful food and drinks. My friends and I agreed to never to meet their again. Food and service used to be better. Not sure what happened, but don't waste your time here. -

with the previous review. I have never had a bad meal at Halsted's. The bar is nice and the patio is awesome on a summer evening. I enjoy the banter with the bartenders who are always cute and sarcastic, just the way I like 'em. I hit this place about twice a month. -
Don't bother
It actually used to be good when they first opened. They had an awesome chicken pesto paninni that I loved. At their 3 different times in the last year. BAD, BAD and BAD. The food quality has went down hill - and the service never was any good there. I even talked to the owner about the quality issues - he denied anything had changed. But it has.
