AIDS Garden Chicago

No ratings yet
Honoring those who were lost and those who still fight

This stunning and moving public monument is the first to memorialize those lost to the Chicago AIDS epidemic. This sprawling 2.5-acre park sits at the shore of shining Lake Michigan where people can walk, contemplate and grieve.

The shoreline was chosen for the iconic Belmont Rocks; a space where the local gay community gathered between the 1960s and 1990s to claim their human right to live and be free.

The official ribbon cutting happened this year as the final phase of design and building was finally completed, so be sure to stop by and spend some quality time!
