We're excited to announce Miss Foozie has agreed to emcee the parade. The costume parade has become the citys most renowned Halloween
event drawing thousands of spectators. Its a creative, fun and entertaining event for the entire community that raises funds for our community garden park. And a Sunday parade means a huge crowd so weve extended the parade route north to Addison. The Northalsted Business Alliance, in conjunction with Triangle Neighbors Association (a branch of the Lake View Citizens' Council), presents the 14th Annual Northalsted Halloween Parade on Sunday, Oct. 31st. This year's theme is "Little Street of Horrors," taken from the Hollywood film and Broadway show "Little Shop of Horrors." Floats make their way into the parade for the first time and a scarecrow competition has shops competing for the top prize for decorating and design
Why to go: Think you're creative? Test yourself in the costume contest after the parade. If nothing else, you're sure to get some ideas for next year. The parade annually draws a broad mix of area residents, including children, families and even pets. Winners of the costume contest for kids and pets are announced immediately after the parade, followed by adult and group contest winners. In all, our groovy ghouls vie for thousands in costume contest cash and prizes! The legendary annual parade is always guaranteed to be one of the city's most outrageous and imaginative Halloween celebrations, with hundreds of participants parading down Halsted Street, lined by thousands of viewing spectators for this must-attend event.
Volunteers are needed for everything from greeters and traffic control to corral marshals and costume contest registration.
