nice place for boystown
"Classy" isn't the first word that comes to mind when you think of Boystown. In fact, it probably isn't any of the first 15,000 words that could possibly come to mind. I think Scarlet is a great place to go to if you need a break from all the sleaziness on Halsted. I'm glad it reopened.
Reopened!
Scarlet, after a few months of recovering from a fire that destroyed the bar and upper apartments, reopened in September 2009.
A long strange trip
Well, this is not a piano bar now, but I'm not sure what it has become. There were drag queens and gogo boys, and a pretty diverse crowd of 30-somethings. It's a small place, and it looks great, but it has a very strange vibe about it. The place is searching for an identity, as are many of its patrons.
