PLAYING WITH LABELS launched in the summer of 2017 to support a thriving generation of LGBTQ artists in Chicago. By fostering the confident expression of LGBTQ artists’ perspectives, stories, and identities, PLAYING WITH LABELS gives a public voice to a population that has been historically suppressed, disenfranchised, and often unnoticed by traditional systems.
Through a love of wine and of our fellow LGBTQ community in Chicago, this idea arose as a way to provide an accessible avenue for queer artists to showcase their work in a climate that might not normally be accepting of their individual voices. It is important, now more than ever, to protect the stories, identities, and voices of members of the LGBTQ community and what better way to do so than on a bottle that will age, quite literally, like a fine wine.
A portion of each bottle created by Ten Loveless, Kelly Boner, Sierra Berquist, & James Schwab for the 'PLAYING WITH LABELS PROJECT' will be donated to Project Fierce Chicago to further support our community and provide a pathway to independence and freedom for LGBTQ youth.
DJ Greg Haus will be joining the party and will be providing tunes starting at 5PM!
