CJR has used this time to discuss and present issues and topics of current interest. Bolder Then Out - No Regrets! is the 2017 Social Justice and Civil Rights African-American Same Gender Loving Bl...ack LGBTQ Identity Conference. This year the theme honors the Dr. Martin Luther King,Jr.'s speech made on April 4, 1967 on peace and the United States involvement in the Viet Nam conflict. Currently social and societal capacities are being expanded by public policy, medical break-through and community demand and as the United States adjust foreign policy the need for attention of urban issues are the same as in 1967. Those of us the heirs of Civil Rights movement have voice and role in fostering a healthy atmosphere for human rights and full appreciation of civil liberties and social justice. This space is to focus resources, foster collaboration, engage civic participation and encourage critical thinking within and with African-American Same Gender Loving Black Gays and Lesbians is needed. The Conference will be held Friday, March 31st - April 2nd and will include Social Media Activist, Public Policy Advocates and LGBTQ grassroots and official activists locally, nationally and global. The conference will include a public policy Empowerment Lunch which will include Policy Makers and Elected Officials. In addition there are workshops and networking opportunities with people from across the country and throughout the America. As expectations change and roles and responsibility shift as a people and a person doing nothing is not an option. You are invited to join the Board of Directors of the CJR and the Coalition for Justice and Respect Foundation Executive Director Marc Loveless, Conference Co-Convener Michelle Elizabeth Brown and our Community Partners at our social justice Identity Conference 2017. Bolder Than Out - the conference will feature life affirming and lifestyle enhancement talks from speakers on topics and issues including civic engagement, relationship development, social accountability, economic disparities and celebration of arts and culture. This conference will be empowering, educational and a celebration of the lives and living as African-American Same Gender Loving Black LGBTQ people. The Conference will also include networking that will provide the tools to better living, personal growth, and community development and support. The Speakers include Community Allies such as Ambassador Carol Moseley Braun and the Reverend Jesse L. Jackson, Sr. Since its founding CJR has used strategies of public education and social action that may lead to non-violent direct action. CJR as a coalition of organizations, agencies, social organizations and clubs, governmental initiatives, private initiatives, faith based communities, private initiatives, and individuals that believe in the full human rights and social justice of the Black African-American Lesbians and Gays and all people. The Coalition for Justice and Respect Foundation (CJRF) CJRF is a non-profit charitable 501(c)(3) to support the mission, programs and services of CJR.
