Kia LaBeija is a multidisciplinary artist born and raised in the heart of New York City’s theatre district, Hellz Kitchen. Her work explores the intersections of community, politics, fine art and activism.
Black Sex Matters is an event series celebrating sensuality and pleasure in liberation struggles serving as a fundraiser for arts activism. Ticket & bar sales will be split between the #LetUsBreathe Collective's Breathing Room rehab - an arts, healing, and organizing hub on Chicago's south side - and a nonprofit org doing work that centers sexual safety and wellness for Black and brown folks.
This special edition of Black Sex Matters is presented in partnership with the Alphawood Foundation and the Art AIDS America exhibit. It will also feature performances by
