Jazz was the original “world music,” long before this label became widespread.
In recent years, many French and American musicians have expressed a renewed interest in experiencing the musical and sociomusical realities of their transatlantic counterparts. Unfortunately, these collaborations usually do not extend beyond a few concerts, a tour, or a recording, due to the lack of adequate networks and resources.
The Bridge creates transatlantic opportunities for deep exchange, production, and diffusion between French and American musicians via collaborative projects.
Tonight's Vent Fort [The Bridge #7] ensemble features:
Magic Malik ~ flute, voice
Guillaume Orti ~ saxophones
Jeb Bishop ~ trombone
Fredéric Bargeon Briet ~ double bass
Tyshawn Sorey ~ drums, trombone
