Joanne B. Freeman, professor of history at Yale University, specializes in the politics and political culture of the revolutionary and early national periods of American History. She recently appeared in the PBS American Experience documentary “The Duel," exploring the fatal 1804 clash between Aaron Burr and Alexander Hamilton.
As "Hamilton" fever sweeps through Chicago this fall, Freeman visits the Newberry to deliver a talk titled "Hunting for Hamilton: A User's Guide to Understanding a Confounding Founder." This lecture, free and open to the public, is cosponsored by the Jack Miller Center.
