SHELLY CONNER in commemorating the passing of two of the most iconic poets in LGBTQ History – AUDRE LORDE and ESSEX HEMPHILL – with an open mic poetry night at the intimate "Twisted Vine" (3530 N. Halsted) on the Legacy Walk. Featured performers will MIX IT UP with everyone who SHOWS UP for WORD UP – a memorable night exploring the themes of intersectionality that were central to Lorde, Hemphill, Parker and so many others.
