Chicago -- Something killer this way comes in Fury Theatre’s fifth installment of Short Attention Span Theatre: Killer Instinct.
Fury’s SAST is an annual national festival that celebrates short play form and nurtures relationships with emerging and established playwrights. This year includes four World Premieres, one Chicago Premiere and four Midwest Premieres.
American soldiers have a tenuous truce with the enemy on Christmas morning, a woman encounters unexpected advice on the El platform, an employee deals with a lunch-stealing coworker, and warring inventors in “People Heaven” search for an angry elephant. All tap into their “Killer Instincts”, showing just how far people are willing to go to get what they need.
Running September 15 - 17 and 22 - 24 at 7:00 p.m. in Chase Park Theater 4701 North Ashland, the festival will be broken up with Act 1 performing on the 15th and 23rd and Act 2 performing on the 16th and 22nd with run times of 75 minutes and no intermission. The full festival (Act 1 & 2) will perform Saturdays on the 17th and 24th with run times of 150 minutes and a 10 minute intermission.
