"House Music has long been Chicago's place for harmony, healing and community. We hope this gathering can be one of many opportunities to honor those who have lost their lives to gun violence, challenge systems that divide our communities. We also celebrate all of our lives united in pride," said DJ Lori Branch.
Chosen Few DJ Andre Hatchett, Craig Loftis and Lori Branch are guest DJs for the event.
The attacks in Orlando are a pronounced example of the violence that the LGBT-SGL community negotiate everyday, (particularly Black Americans) - whether due to our skin color, the way we sway our hips, or the public affection we show.
But we will not give in to despair. We will embrace life.
Over the next several weeks there will be various opportunities to hold vigil, find sanctuary, and express pride. Find the times and spaces that work for you to make it through this pride season.
