Often referred to as the female Frank Sinatra and holding the title as longest reigning female recording artist at Capitol Records from the 1940s-1960's, Miss Lee had a staggering 6 decade career spanning from her early discovery in Chicago by "The King of Swing" Benny Goodman (raised on Maxwell Street!) to her hit songwriting skills most notably for Disney’s “Lady & the Tramp” to critically acclaimed acting/singing roles in “Pete Kelly’s Blues” and “The Jazz Singer.” Nominated over her lifetime for 12 Grammy Awards, she won in 1969 for what became her signature tune, Leiber & Stoller's "Is That All There Is?"
