This upbeat evening of summertime features Emmy Award-winner Scott Gryder, Jeff Award-winner Donterrio Johnson, and the stars of PFP’s The Boy From Oz, Chris Logan and Luke Meierdiercks.
The program features sizzling classics from George Gershwin, Kander and Ebb, the Drifters and the Beach Boys, along with selections from today’s pop favorites.
David Zak directs with musical direction from Nick Sula and eye-popping costumes from Raquel Adorno. Patrick Murphy is the Stage Manager.
The Boys In Briefs: At The Beach! performs on Sunday, February 21, Tuesday March 29 and Tuesday April 26. The performances are at 7:00pm at Uptown Underground, 4707 N. Broadway, Chicago, IL 60640.

Travis Wright is excited to be understudying for the boys! This is his first time working with Pride Films & Plays. He is a proud graduate of the Second City Music Conservatory and received his Theatre Degree from Millikin University. You may have recently seen him in BoHo Theatre's "Dogfight" and in Light Opera Work's "Cabaret" and "HMS Pinafore."
Nick Sula (Music Director) is a pianist, arranger, composer, and award-winning music director. He previously performed as pianist in The Book of Merman. Past music direction and theatre credits include Bohemian Theatre Ensemble, Porchlight Music Theatre, Chicago Opera Vanguard, and Light Opera Works. Nick is an instructor at the Chicago College of Performing Arts, and he performs often at cabaret venues such as Davenport’s, Stage 773, Uptown Underground, and Twisted Vine.
Patrick J. Murphy III (Stage Manager) is pleased to work for the first time with PFP. He most recently served as stage manager for Genesis Theatrical Productions (Hope Throws Her Heart Away, Zelda At The Oasis). He served as stage manager with City Lit Theater for a production of the Seven Percent Solution.
Raquel Adorno (Costume Designer) recently designed Barefoot in the Park, Crimes of the Heart, HoliDAZE, Darlin', and The BenchMark (Step Up Productions); The Jacksonian, Our New Girl, Genius, The Other Place, The Cryptogram, Reasons to Be Happy, Annapurna, Cock, Gidion’s Knot, In God’s Hat, In the Company of Men, The Dream of the Burning and Hellcab (Profiles Theatre); Angry Fags(Steppenwolf Garage), Book of Merman, The Submission, Some Men, Songs from an Unmade Bed, and The All-American Genderf*ck Cabaret (PFP).
David Zak* (Director) has won 7 Jeff Awards in Chicago, including four for Directing (Animal Farm, Dr. Sex, Parade, Pope Joan), two for writing (The Hiroshima Project, The Count of Monte Cristo) and a special Jeff for “Fostering Diversity in Chicago Theater.” He has directed in London (The Irish Curse), Seoul (Dollhouse, Fanta Stick, The Ghost’s Cookbook), Dublin (Oh, Holy Allen Ginsberg, At The Flash), Boston (Sin: A Cardinal Deposed), Los Angeles (Dr. Sex, At The Flash) and NY (Marlowe and Poseidon: An Upside Down Musical).
