Join us for our very first Museum Lab event, presented in partnership with the Chicago Design Museum. The Chicago Design Museum debuted as a pop-up exhibit in 2012 at 700 N. Sacramento and now resides at Block 37 in Chicago’s Downtown Loop. Hear about the successes and struggles of a start-up museum from ChiDM’s own Executive Creative Director, Matt Terdich, and Co-founder, Chairman + Executive Director, Tanner Woodford. Learn how community support and innovative partnerships, such as ChiDM’s most recent collaboration with Cards Against Humanity, continue to make design accessible to thousands of practitioners, students, families, tourists, and urban explorers.
The evening will begin with a conversation and Q&A with Tanner Woodford and Matt Terdich. Afterwards, we’ll let loose by playing Cards Against Humanity with ChiDM’s own Design Pack and visiting their latest exhibition, New Horizon: Architecture from Ireland. Please RSVP to attend!

Museum Lab is an inclusive space in which museum and cultural workers can come together to discuss current and best practices in our growing field. Museum Lab will offer a variety of educational and conversational events for individuals to collectively engage one another in critical dialogue, with programming ranging from teach-ins and museum visits to roundtables and book clubs. We will have a rotating schedule of events with no two alike. We encourage all voices be heard, and welcome all manner of topics for discussion.
