Different Blood Type | Opening Reception and video screening

Join us in celebrating the opening of 'Different Blood Type', a solo exhibition of the works of artist Leonard Suryajaya (MFA 2015). VIDEO SCREENING will begin promptly at 4:45 P.M.! 'Different Blood Type' investigates the complex layers of selfhood in the context of cultural background, sexual preference, and personal displacement. Through videos and photographic documentation the exhibition follows the travels of artist Leonard Suryajaya, a second generation Chinese Indonesian. The resulting narrative of resolution and revelation questions the meaning of family and morality, and explores the conception of self both foreign and familiar in the context of today’s diverse and globalized world.
