The induction of the second class of honorees will be held at 7:00 PM at Center on Halsted (Meet & Greet Reception 6-7pm with hosted bar and hors d'oeuvres)on July 11th, 2014 in conjunction with Out at Wrigley on July 12th, 2014 – the nation’s largest “Gay Day” at a major league sporting event. The National Gay & Lesbian Sports Hall of Fame, a 501 (c)(3) organization based in Chicago, recognizes those who have stood up to stereotypes and worked to break down the walls of differences to bring people together for the good of sport, according to the group’s executive director, Bill Gubrud.
The first of its kind in the U.S., the National Gay & Lesbian Sports Hall of Fame was established to honor individuals and organizations whose achievements and efforts have enhanced the fields of sports and athletics for the gay and lesbian community.
