Lakeside Pride will march with the Chicago Chapter of the American Veterans for Equal Rights (AVER) in one of the largest Memorial Day parades in the nation. AVER is a non-profit, chapter-based association of active, reserve and veteran service members dedicated to full and equal rights and equitable treatment for all present and former members of the U.S. Armed Forces. Since 1870, Memorial Day parades have graced the streets of Chicago to honor all men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our country.
ABOUT LAKESIDE PRIDE
Lakeside Pride Music Ensembles is a recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Our annual appearances and performances help the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) communities connect with diverse audiences everywhere through music. Last year, our Lakeside Pride Freedom Marching Band, Lakeside Pride Symphonic Band, and shhh...OUT! Lakeside Pride Jazz Ensemble reached more than one million people.
