To help warp up the summer, Chicago-based non-profit Fred Says, which raises money for HIV+ teens, is teaming up with pet-boutique Wigglyville to throw a fabulous dog wash-a-thon where dog owners can get their dogs groomed by drag queens, sample wines, munch on hors d’oeuvres, and take home gift bags sponsored by Uber, PoopBags, Sojos, Stella & Chewy’s, Madison Vine Wines, Dog Biscuit Company and more.
A large percentage of proceeds will go directly to Fred Says, where they will be used to help off-set any costs associated with a teens HIV+ diagnosis. This event hopes to provide fun, give a space outside of a bar to meet some of Chicago’s drag queens, and raise awareness around how HIV is affecting the young people around the globe.
Dog owners interested in having their dogs washed can reserve a spot between 9am-2pm by emailing Zach Stafford at zstafford@fredsays.org. Each wash is only $25.
Any one that loves their furry, four-legged friends and a good drag queen! If you do not want to get your dog washed, feel free to stop by the boutique to meet the queens, Fred Says, and take some samples.
Drag Queen & Dog Wash-a-thon is Saturday, August 10th, 2013, 9am-2pm. On Thursday, August 8th Madison Vine Wines (1340 W. Madison) will be hosting a wine sampling to promote the event on Saturday, free of charge.
