Heavy Rotation Summer Edition: A Benefit for Chicago Dyke March
Heavy Rotation is a dance party run by a fierce group of queers that believe in self-determination. We want to continue to have visible conversations about how fat phobia, classism, racism, ableism, homophobia, transphobia, body positivity, sexism affect our communities and how they intersect and overlap.
We love Chicago size queens, body rebels, QPOC, QTPOC, muffins in the struggle, queers, trans folk, and all of us Resisting and Surviving how we can -- giving it on spectrums of gender, abilities, race, sexuality, femme and hard femmes. All clicking their heels, stomping their sneakers, bringing their looks and challenging us.

About us:
We want to see fat, desirable bodies moving, dancing, and gyrating. We want spaces for qpoc & qtpoc that don't feel tokenizing, are represented, and VISIBLE. We want to occupy spaces that are accessible, where people with disabilities (both visible and invisible) are not tokenized, but desired. We want to have dance parties in spaces around the city where individuals regardless of race, immigration status, and all gender presentations have space to be celebrated.
We can't do it all at once and guarantee that we will make mistakes along the way (and have already). We value self-determination and transformation.
We value checking our own privileges and the space we do and do not take up.
****Including working on ensuring some ways to make sure an all ages Heavy Rotation happens **hopefully** this fall*****
We will continue to do our best - as a grassroots group that will seek to donate all proceeds to like minded causes & organizations, performers, and dj's involved with Heavy Rotation and to collaborate with fierce folks already fighting to win and resisting all over the city.

About the Chicago Dyke March Collective
Chicago Dyke March Collective is a grassroots mobilization and celebration of dyke, queer, bisexual, and transgender resilience. It is an anti-racist, anti-violent, volunteer-led, grassroots effort with a goal to bridge together communities across race, ethnicity, socio-economic status, age, size, gender identity, gender expression, sexuality, culture, immigrant status, spirituality, and ability. We challenge fat phobia and are body positive.
