Sidetracks is a cool place to hang out and have a few drinks. The people and bartenders are friendly. The atmosphere is relaxing after a hard day at work. The flat screens all over the bar show and play a varied array of music. From classic dance to classic show clips. Since everybody that goes into the bar are checked for I.D. It makes us more mature guys feel good.

Is huge! There's an outside patio (summer). Drinks are cheap! Cheapest drink on the strip and always strong! People of all ages 20's to grandpas :-)

I have to say I agree with DesertRat and his opinion of the showtunes. Not that I dislike them, but I think one night a week(Sundays) would be enough, however I have been coming to this bar for 20 years and have watched it expand and still like this place. Usually a fun enjoyable experience, although a couple of times I had walked up to the video DJ to make a request and was handed some rudeness and attitude. He seemed to really not like what he was doing. In spite of these 2 things I still like coming here for the mixed crowd, the bar has great atmosphere, sleek and stylish in every room, this bar is huge and the bartenders are friendly.

My Chicago friend calls Sidetrack "The Bar That Ate Halsted." It just gets bigger and bigger! They apparently keep buying adjacent properties and expanding their space. But it's still packed with way-cute boys who are all really friendly. Watch out for the slushy drinks: a couple of those on a sunny afternoon can put you under fast!

Changes have been made since I went there last--all for the better! The bar seems to grow and grow, but the service and friendliness has stayed the same--Excellent! Bartenders, doormen, and the management were terrific!

I love Sidetrack and there is a reason its the highest grossing bar in the state of Illinois. Large bar with a huge non-smoking section for all us non-mid-westerners who are used to that sorta thing. Great looking guys and fun music...a must for a fun night in Boystown!!!

i was i vacation for Obama election last year, everyday i had a fun time here, the bar is amazing and bartender in the big room was very friendly and give me tips on things to see and do in Chicago during my stay.The doormen were always polite, the only bad thing is smoking is forbiden even on the roof top terrace :( Spending election night here was fantastic! i'll never forget this moment!

Sundays at Sidetracks in summer is not to be missed. This is the place where all the hottest men get together for an afternoon buzz. Frisky, fun and full of HOT men!

Love, love, love Sidetrack! Great set up, they're expanding soon, good drinks, and friendly staff, what more can you ask for? Oh, hot guys too! I always have a great time here.

First of all... This place is HUGE! Every major city should have a bar like this one. Lots of different rooms each having a unique look to it. Plays great show tunes on Sunday afternoons. Friendly bartenders and top notch staff running the place. I highly recommend it!

SideTracks is a beautiful bar with many different areas, however everytime we go there they are playing showtunes and Broadway on the video screens. They were snooty when asked and said everyone "loved" the showtunes....We have been to gay bars all over the world which play great music videos and never showtunes. Deck is nice but no view of street or city skyline.

Undoubtedly one ofht ebest gay bars in the world! No one could not have great time here. the clientel is diverse, not just 20 and 30 somethings like the summary says. The video's are grat! The drinks are Great1 The bartenders are great! And, I don't live in Chitown.

This place is HUGE! It's clean, it's modern, it has tons of space to house all the pretty boys you can handle. Although the people here aren't near as friendly as elsewhere, it's a stand-and-model bar worth checking out. Service to get a drink was always fast, too!

Beautiful interior with numerous bars and patio area. Staff friendly and the patrons are a mixed lot of both young and old and caters to a better dressed crowd. Clearly a must see on any visitor's list in Chicago.

Sidetrack is the bar in Chicago by which the other bars are judged. It's the largest in town, one of the nicest and definitely has the best crowd consistently 7 nights a week. Many of the customers aren't lacking in attitude, but what the heck. Always a great time.

sidetrack is a cool bar....gets really crowded just like any other place, but its huge! lots and lots of hot guys.

Guys, Guys and more Guys, this is a yuppy bar in Boys town with lots of 35-40 something men, the atmosphere is fun, there's lots of space and different rooms including an outdoor area. Crowed Friday and Saturday after 10pm, so if you like guys packed in close to you, go late.

With a huge rooftop patio/deck and at least five indoor rooms on various levels, this popular club is more like a cluster of bars. On various theme nights, they play campy music and comedy video clips on multiple screens and the crowd really gets into it. Try the frozen drinks, they're tasty and dangerous (as are the bartenders).
